A small window in the centre of screen appears.Simply press Space or Tab key to switch focus to following task. You can also use first letter of each task's name to highlight it (e.g. D standing for Data). If task you want to bring to foreground is focused, release Ctrl.If there is more than one document of focused application open, you must select needed document after releasing Ctrl for the first time. You can select the document in the same way as selecting needed application (i.e. release Ctrl if the needed document is focused). If you do not want to switch task, press something else then Space or Tab (e.g. Esc). Do not release Ctrl key earlier than this breaking key - focused task would come to foreground in this case.If a selected task is the task you were working in before calling switching tasks and you release Ctrl, the task will not be switched.TIP: If you mark some application as excluded, this application will not be displayed when switching between running tasks.List of running tasks (Open files / programs)There is also another way how to switch between running tasks provided by WinEpoc. You can use a dialogue window displaying all running tasks which is similar to standard System list of open files. To display this dialog, press Ctrl+J (from WinEpoc) or Ctrl+Fn+J (from anywhere if allowed in General preferences) or hold Ctrl and tap "silk" System icon. You can use this dialogue almost in the same way as the mentioned System dialogue, however, WinEpoc's list of running tasks provides some additional functions.Personalising WinEpocWinEpoc provides you with a wide range of possibilites how to personalise it.Multiple desktopsYou are not limited by only a single desktop. If you wish, you can create up to 20desktops. Each desktop has its own links, notes, wallpares and other settings. Therefore you can use separate desktops for work, home, leisure etc. Each desktop can be differentiated by its own icon that appears on bottom StartBar (if enabled). You can switch between desktops quickly and easily using Desktop menu available directly from StartBar. Alternatively, you can also use Ctrl+S shortcut to do the same when no item or note is selected on the current destop.WallpapersYou can select different wallpaper for each desktop. Moreover, the latest version of WinEpoc also allows you to set dynamic wallpapers - i.e. wallpapers are changed automatically after a given time interval (daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly). However, if you want, you can still switch the wallpaper manually using the corresponding function from Desktop menu. You can use common MBM files (Epoc Multi-bitmap files) as a wallpaper. If you choose to change wallpaperes automatically, you will have to choose a folder containing wallpapers instead of a single file. You can either use your own files as wallpapers or download some nice wallpapers from www.jssolutions.cz.StartBarIf you are not satisfied with a default look of bottom StartBar or just want to try something different, you can change whole StartBar's appearance (skin). Use StartBar settings to do so.Four default appearances are distributed with WinEpoc, further skins can be downloaded from www.jssolutions.cz.You can also choose which icons will appear on StartBar and how running tasks on TaskBar will be displayed.Links' iconsWhen creating links, you are not limited by standard documents' icons. You can choose from 20 additional icons to create a more illustrative link.Various icons are available when creating menus as well.Notes on desktopYou can choose from several colours and symbols when creating notes on desktop. This possibility allows you to differentiate various kinds of notes. You can also select note's size not depending on a length of its text.Various settingsBesides all above mentioned possibilities, WinEpoc provides you with a number of advanced settings to make its use even more comfortable according to your wish. Please visit settings-related chapters for more information.List of shortcutsHere is a list of useful keys and shortcuts you can use when working with WinEpoc. On desktop (general)w - start writing URL addressUppercase letter - start writing note on desktop beginning with this letterTab - switch focus between links, notes and Explorer windowsShift+Tab - switch focus between links, notes and Explorer windows (backwards)Esc - unselect currently selected objectMenu - displays contextual menu depending on item selectedCtrl+E - exit WinEpocCtrl+Shift+H - display help file (this file)Ctrl+J - display list of running tasksCtrl+L - remote link settings1 - turn the sound on/off 2 - turn the remote link on/off according to last settings3 - display information board about battery and external power4 - display information board about disks5 - display battery graph6 - open system Control panelOn desktop when no object is selectedS - open Start menuD - open Documents menuF - open Favourites menuCtrl+A - arrange links on desktopCtrl+Shift+A - arrange notes on desktopCtrl+Shift+E - open Explorer windowCtrl+H - hide/show notes on desktopCtrl+I - display About boxCtrl+M - zoom inCtrl+Shift+M - zoom outCtrl+N - create new link on desktopCtrl+Shift+N - create new note on desktopCtrl+P - display current desktop's propertiesCtrl+R - open Run dialogCtrl+S - switch desktopCtrl+V - paste copied link onto desktopCtrl+Shift+V - paste copied text as a new note on desktopOn desktop when a link is selectedArrows - moving between links on desktopHome - select the first linkEnd - select the last linkLetter - select a link which name begins with pressed letterEnter - launch linkCtrl+A - arrange links on desktopCtrl+C - copy linkCtrl+D - delete linkCtrl+N - create new linkCtrl+Shift+N - create new menu on desktopCtrl+P - link's propertiesCtrl+R - rename linkCtrl+V - paste linkCtrl+X - cut linkOn desktop when a note is selectedArrows - moving between notes on desktopHome - select the first noteEnd - select the last noteLetter - select a note which text begins with pressed letterEnter - edit note's textCtrl+A - arrange notes on desktopCtrl+B - make note's text bold and vice versaCtrl+C - copy note as textCtrl+D - delete noteCtrl+Shift+E - edit note's textCtrl+H - hide/show notes on desktopCtrl+M - change size of a note (smaller)Ctrl+Shift+M - change size of a note (larger)Ctrl+N - create new note on desktopCtrl+P - note's propertiesCtrl+V - paste text as a new noteCtrl+X - cut note as textIn a menuArrow Up, Arrow Down - moving between items in menuArrow Left - close current menu / return to previous menuArrow Right - open selected menu / launch selected linkPgDn, PgUp, Home, End - moving between items in menuEnter - open selected menu / launch selected linkLetter - select an item beginning with this letter or jump to following item beginning with this letterMenu - display contextual menu if availableEsc - close current menu / return to previous menuCtrl+C - copy itemCtrl+D - delete itemCtrl+N - create new itemCtrl+P - item's propertiesCtrl+R - rename itemCtrl+S - sort itemsCtrl+V - paste itemCtrl+X - cut itemIn an Explorer windowArrows - moving between files and foldersPgDn, PgUp, Home, End - moving between files and foldersCtrl+(any key above) - move focus only (do not select)Shift+(any key above) - select files and foldersSpace - select / unselect file or folderEnter - open folder / launch fileLowercase letter - select a file or folder which name begins with this letterUppercase letter - start writing name of a searched file. Please use Rescan applications function from Start -> Settings. Some applications do not appear on the TaskBar although they are not set as "excluded".Unfurtunately, some applications do not behave in common way. E.g. applications with incorrect UID need not to be displayed on the TaskBar.WinEpoc indicates that a remote link is connected although it is not.WinEpoc checks status of remote link every minute to prevent of enormous battery consumption and slowdown. Give it a little time and everything will be all right :-)SupportIf you find any problem when using WinEpoc, you can use my support form at www.jssolutions.cz.
